If you are thinking of doing a Grand Canyon river rafting tour in 2011, you better do some rethinking. You really should be planning ahead for 2012 as Grand Canyon trips are 99% sold out for Western River Expeditions’ 2011 season.
Western River Expeditions does whitewater rafting in Grand Canyon which is 288 miles long. We divide the canyon in two parts: the upper canyon (a 6 or 7 day trip) covers 188 miles and is high adventure, and then the lower canyon, a 3 or 4 day trip, covers the last 100 miles where the rapids are more moderate.
The 6 & 7 day trips start out of Marble Canyon, AZ. If you are driving you can spend the night there and meet your guides the morning of the trip. You also have the option of meeting in Las Vegas and flying to Marble Canyon the morning of the trip. At the end of the trip you will be flown by helicopter from the river up to the rim of the canyon where you can take a shower and get some lunch. You will then fly you back to Marble Canyon or Las Vegas.
The lower Grand Canyon rafting trips start and end in Las Vegas.
I suggest you make reservations as soon as you know your plans as we do book up quickly.
