Still On My Mind
It is almost a month since I return home from my Grand Canyon rafting trip; I find myself fluttering, at random, to the Western River website to look at the pictures that our group uploaded, and to check the availability of next years trips! I constantly dream about going down the river, camping, laughing, hiking, swimming (esp. the LCR!), and the list goes on... Anyhow, Amber and Craig were our WRE guides, and to say the least, they were and are fabulous! We were constantly kept 'abreast' of things in the canyon and the trips events, not to mention being educated, entertained, enlightened (this list goes on too) by our guides.
Very few of us knew each other before we got on the raft, but by the end of the first day or so it seemed like we had all been best friends for years. For sure we will be friends for many years to come. I certainly will be back again soon --I am already planning next years trip, so Craig and Amber watch-out, 'cause here I come!
Words cannot describe how great this trip was. The guides really do work hard to make this adventure/vacation a good one; so if you are reading this and are going on a trip please look after your guides-- they really do deserve looking after. Oh, and they sure know how to cook! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all great surprises and unbelievable meals. There was no way we were going hungry.
The last night is an exceptionally cool night too, but I won't give that away. You can find out for yourself... Oh and the rapids were excellent too; be prepared to get wet!
So, thank you to: Craig, Amber, Julie, Sarah, Mary, Kristine, Joe, Nadine, Marilyn, Lucky, Clint, Pat, Meriden, Bron, Jim, Georgann, Heather, and Tom for making this trip an incredible one... (I miss you all).
Be happy and be safe.
