If you are having any hesitations at all about booking this awesome rafting trip, I can honestly say JUST DO IT!
My husband and parents came with me on the 6-day trip and we couldn’t have asked for a better time. It’s actually quite hard to put into words how much this trip meant to me. I had the adventure of a lifetime with my favorite people and when I look back it just feels like a huge blessing.
This Grand Canyon rafting trip is an unforgettable experience and one that very few people get to take part in and it’s a real privilege to have been able to raft the beautiful Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. The hikes, the camping, the food, the guides, the people you will meet, the incredible views.. it’s all so worth it!
There were a few parts of the trip that made me nervous... 50° water temperature, helicopter ride! In the end, these turned out to be my favorite parts of the trip — the excitement and adrenaline! The Western River guides had every detail of the trip handled. Great experience!
Friends who had already experienced this same rafting trip five years ago, recommended Western River Expeditions. So, we had some idea of what to expect. Our Colorado River trip exceeded our expectations. The "J" rafts are the only way to go! You can experience riding the pontoons and get up front and personal with the rapids. This is the most exciting, "River View". The "Canyon View", affords one to sit atop the supply boxes to enjoy the rapids and magnificent views of the canyon and wildlife. To enjoy a break from riding the waves, one can retreat to the "Eagles Nest" and dry off.
Our guides had years of experience and their enthusiasm for sharing the wonders of the Grand Canyon/Colorado River were enlightening.

This rafting trip was the best way to see the Grand Canyon. It far surpassed my expectations.
Our guides were amazing, Shad and Keefer on our boat and Jason and Machai on the other boat. Their knowledge and expertise were unmatched.
The food was always wonderful. Sleeping under the stars was magical.

The food was top notch - we never went hungry!! Sleeping under the stars of the Grand Canyon was such a bucket-list treat. Even the helicopter ride down into the canyon was do-able (for someone afraid of heights!).
I would recommend the 3-day river trip in a heartbeat, and hope to return one day with my sister!
