Spectacular Adventure

This trip was truly spectacular, awesome and just plain fun!!! There are 4 things, (the scenery, the outfitter, the guides and the people on the expedition) that make an adventure like this a really memorable and unforgettable experience, and this trip had all four.
The scenery was superb. My wife, Lisa, and I have been to the rims of the Grand Canyon before and said that the next time would only be if we went into the canyon itself and on the river, and we were both glad with our decision. Camping in the canyon, waking up to the sound of the river and gazing at the canyon walls, traveling down the river and experiencing the rapids and the world around it, hiking excursions to slot canyons and waterfalls and sleeping under the stars, were just beyond words.
Western River Expeditions, in my mind, is the only way to go. Their patented J-rig raft, which separates them from the rest, is by far the best way to see the river, as it has 3 different seating positions on the raft, that allows you to choose how you want to experience the river and it's rapids. Their trips are well planned, food was awesome and everything went without a hitch.
Of course Western Rivers couldn't do this without their guides, and our guides, Lucky and Bill, were the best!! Lucky, with his 29 years of experience, captained the boat to perfection. Bill was very informative and witty with stories of the history of the canyon. Both were a pleasure to get to know, knowledgeable and worked extremely hard to make our life in the canyon enjoyable. Plus, they were pretty good cooks. Thank you Lucky and Bill, and our hats off to you!
Finally is the group that you experienced this with. Fortunately for us, we had an awesome group of people of all different backgrounds and ages to share this adventure with. We broke bread together every meal, had a lot laughs, hooting and hollering, and conversations. By the end of the trip, we were sad to see everyone depart and leave the "Real World"(as Lucky put it at the end of the trip) and head to our own separate worlds.
Definitely a trip of a lifetime!!! Thank You
