- 1 pair long quick-drying nylon pants - if
you want sun protection on your legs - zip-off, convertible
pants work very well, and save space by doubling one pair of
shorts and pants.

like to keep a shirt on under their lifejacket for comfort and
sun protection. Quick-drying shirts made mostly of nylon work
well for this.

Women may want to consider a sarong.

get wet, dry quickly and are sturdy enough for hiking. (Please

Suggested Men’s Clothing and Women’s Clothing
On the Southwest Sampler trip, you will be packing for both
your stay in Moab and your trip down the river. Please note
that you will not need to take all of your items on the river
with you. You may leave extra clothing and accessories in your
vehicle or at our Moab Adventure Center before departure on
your rafting trip. For your stay in town, pack comfortable clothes
for the hike and Hummer Safari as well as anything you would
like to wear in the evenings or around town. The following list
includes those items recommended for your 2-day river trip.
The list includes some items that you may not feel are necessary
for your individual needs. Please use your own discretion when
packing.
- Plenty of Waterproof sun block and sunscreen lip balm (a must)
- After sun body lotion with Aloe Vera or similar after-sun ingredients
- Biodegradable soap and shampoo in small bottles
- Sport water bottle or hydration system for hikes (also handy in camp)
- Headlamp or flashlight & extra batteries (headlamp recommended)
- Insect repellant (small container)
- Sunglasses with retainer
- Camera and carrying case or accessory bag You may also want to take some disposable waterproof cameras. Small camp pillow if camping.
- Carabiner(s) (perfect for keeping personal items and water bottles nearby)
- Toiletry Kit with essential items
- Feminine hygiene products
- Small towel and washcloth
- Disposable moist towelettes
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Small pack of tissue
- Personal medications
- Cash, credit card and photo ID (You’ll want to take some cash with you on your trip for gratuities for your guides)
Personal Travel Accessories
- Area guide book and/or river map.
- Pen and paper or small journal or notebook
- A few clothespins and small piece of rope for drying clothes if camping

NOTE
The items which you wish to bring on your river trip
should be packed in a soft "duffle-style" bag, approximately
24" x 12" x 11". This will ensure that all of
