Cataract Canyon Rafting

Itinerary

DAYS 1 & 2» Meet at Western River Expeditions’ Moab Adventure Center at 7:30 AM where you’ll take a short bus ride to the launch site for Cataract Canyon. After meeting your incredible all-women guide team, you’ll set off onto the Colorado River. Leave all the busyness of life behind as you glide along smooth-flowing currents winding through Canyonlands National Park where sculpted sandstone, isolated buttes, and red rock castles stir the soul and spirit. Hike to ancient Native American ruins, pictographs and a magnificent outlook high above the mighty Colorado River. When we arrive in camp each night, a professional massage therapist will be available. Each morning, as the sun warms the canyon walls, a trained yoga instructor will lead the group in some refreshing stretches and exercises.

DAY 3 » As the canyon deepens to 2,000 feet, the mood of the river changes drastically. Here you’ll paddle over 30 fun whitewater rapids! You can enjoy the fun and excitement of paddling with other women in our 18 -foot paddleboats or you can hold on for a fun ride in an oar boat. At the end of the day, you’ll relish one more night camping on the river’s edge. Completely relax as the final rays of sun paint the canyon walls and your guides prepare delicious appetizers, barbeque dinner, and Dutch-oven dessert. Fall asleep under one of the world’s most astounding views of the night sky.

Cataract Canyon Island in the Sky jrig in Cataract Canyon Riverside dining yoga on the river yoga on the river Colorado River in Canyonlands National Park

I just returned from the Women’s 4 day trip through Cataract Canyon. It far exceeded my expectations. The guides, all amazing women, introduced us to a beautiful canyon, encouraged us to try new experiences, and took outstanding care of us. The yoga was a great way to start the mornings, and the massages in the evenings were outstanding. It was an experience I won’t forget, and I’m already planning to take another trip with Western, with my husband.
