DAY 1 After a short drive from the unique town of Moab, Utah we launch our rafts onto a calm section of the Colorado River. Within minutes, unmatched geologic marvels tower all around us. We’ll stop for hikes to Native American ruins and writings, awe-inspiring vistas from atop plateaus, and relaxing floats amidst the shadows of striking red rock spires. Around mid-day you’ll savor a scrumptious buffet lunch at the river’s edge. Later in the evening we’ll set up camp. Enjoy a delicious sunset dinner, relax beside a crackling campfire, and star gaze as you’re lulled to sleep by the rhythmic sounds of the river.

DAY 2 Enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast. Marvel as the morning sun paints its warmth across the surrounding canyon walls. Then set off for a day of serious adventure. As the canyon deepens to over 2,000 feet, you’ll experience nearly 30 whitewater rapids including Capsize, the Big Drops, the Mile Longs, Little Niagra, Satan’s Gut and Repeat. After reaching Lake Powell, you can complete your day with an optional flight over Canyonlands National Park where you’ll see dramatic rock formations and review your river journey from the air.

NOTE: Canyonlands Scenic Return Flight including shuttle from airport to Moab is available for $115 per person. Flight time is approximately 1 hour.

Cataract Canyon Rafting Vacation » Guest Comments

As a local I am often asked why I don’t go on vacation in California or Nevada. One look at some of pictures from some of our river trips (this is my third trip with Western River) and what does Disneyland or Las Vegas have to compare. Disneyland has no ride to match thrills you get when you hit white water. As for the glitter of Las Vegas, the Milky Way far out shines anything Las Vegas has to offer. The food is great and you just can beat the ambiance, Dinner served at sunset with the red rock in the back ground is quite breath taking. Will I do another river trip? The answer is yes I will!
