Las Vegas now a gateway to Moab, Utah for Colorado River Trips

Great Lakes Airlines to Launch New Service to Page, AZ and Las Vegas, NV

 

CHEYENNE, Wyo., March 28, 2011 – Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd. (OTC Bulletin Board: GLUX.OB – news) today announced additional service from Moab’s Canyonlands Field Airport to Page Municipal Airport with further connections to Las Vegas McCarran International.

 

This connection to Page and Las Vegas is a great addition to our existing service. It will provide options for visitors and residents alike to access not only the Moab area but Las Vegas, Denver, and northern Arizona.” said Mayor Dave Sakrison.

 

“For many years the businesses in the Moab area have been hoping to develop an established flight to Las VegasThis change in Great Lakes’ flight schedule will have a significant impact.  The community is eager to develop a greater tourism base and this is the change we need to make that happen. We are happy to see the changes and are anxious to begin working with the airline to establish higher enplanement numbers at Canyonlands Field.” said Marian DeLay, Executive Director of the Moab Area Travel Council.

 

“This additional service is just what our tourism businesses have been pushing for in order to make Moab accessible to the many inexpensive flight options in and out of Las Vegas. These flights will give us a real competitive edge as a tourist destination.” said Bob Greenberg, Grand County Airport Board member and former County Councilman.

 

 “The new flight schedule and connections are just what the airport needs to boost enplanements.  I am also excited for the local businesses to be able to tap into a new market and broaden the tourist base.  It is my hope and desire to grow this route so that it becomes economically sustainable.  At a time when every enplanement is critical, this could not have come at a better time.” said Kelly Braun, Canyonlands Field Airport Manager.

Great Lakes flight schedule has one flight a day from Las Vegas to Moab leaving at 9:30 AM and arriving at 12:34 AM and one flight a day from Moab to Las Vegas leaving at 1:18 PM and arriving at 2:23 PM.  Bookings can be made at www.flygreatlakes.com.  Guest wanting to fly to Moab, Utah can use the city code of CNY to find flights from their departure cities other than Las Vegas.
