Middle Fork - Salmon River

Middle Fork Salmon River Rafting

Flowing untamed through a land so rugged that any attempts at settlement have failed, the Middle Fork of the Salmon River is truly a legend among the whitewater rivers of the world. This pure, clear, free-flowing river drops 3,000 feet over its 100-mile course through the remote and spectacular River of No Return Wilderness, the largest Wilderness in the lower 48 states.

Traces of man's attempts to settle the area remain as dilapidated log cabins, while more ancient cultures left their marks in prehistoric cave paintings. Enjoy more than 100 Idaho whitewater rafting rapids, fishing in clear alpine waters, relaxation in natural hot springs, hikes to magnificent waterfalls, and camping in gorgeous mountain meadows.

Beyond Description!

Ronald - California, USA
The river and surrounding landscape were majestic and breathtaking beyond description. The reason the trip was so outstanding was the guides! What an incredible crew of guides. As individuals, they each demonstrated constant professionalism, mastery on the water, and commitment to their guests' safety and enjoyment. Collectively, they worked as smoothly together as the finest of championship sports teams. All of the guests had an incredible experience thanks to this crew.

We really enjoyed working with Lori as we set this up. The guides on our Middle Fork Salmon River raft trip were all great. Kirk, Julia, John, Sam, Jonah, Landon and Swampy, aka, Matt made our float trip a once in a life experience. Many good memories. They were always available, informative and fun to talk to on the rafts, and around camp. The food was the best!

Rafts on the Middle Fork

Rafts on the Middle Fork

In order to make your trip run as smoothly and comfortably as possible, we use a large sweep boat to carry camping gear, food and supplies ahead of the main group. This allows our smaller rafts to be lighter and more maneuverable, which makes for a safer ride with more bounce and splash.

The Middle Fork offers the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of a paddle raft or ride aboard a comfortable oar rig piloted by your skilled guides.

  • Terrific Food!

The food was terrific! It's amazing what can be cooked in a dutch oven! The birthday cake that Eric made was the best cake I’ve ever had. Great gear (tents, paco pads and sleeping bags).
