The Ultimate Grand Canyon Vacation

Limited Availability on Select 6 and 7-Day Trips in 2024! 2025 is filling fast, so book your Grand Canyon rafting vacation today!

In the grandest canyon of the Colorado River, experience the excitement, serenity, joy and enchanting beauty of the river as it transforms this divine chasm and those who venture down it. Your Grand Canyon rafting vacation covers 188 miles in 6 or 7 days, each day descending deeper into geologic time. The Grand Canyon is ever-changing, with massive walls that step back to expose eons of natural history, at one place dark and narrow, and at another lush with waterfalls thundering hundreds of feet in luminous free fall.

Daily side hikes lead you to sparkling streams, pristine pools, green fern glens, and ancient Anasazi ruins. The astounding scenery through Grand Canyon National Park is enhanced by the thrill of over 60 whitewater rapids where Western's unique J-Rig rafts will give you maximum excitement and comfort.

This is the most famous rafting trip in the world. It is also our most physically demanding and rewarding trip. Spending a week living in the outdoors is a life-changing experience but it requires preparation and physical capability on the part of the participants. Please review this information before booking this trip, or call our helpful staff with any questions you may have.

We run the 7-day trip in April and September when there is shortened daylight to give our guests more time on the river. The 7-day trips in June or July are more physically demanding due to longer daylight hours and heat. They may have the potential for additional hiking opportunities.

Indescribable! Best Vacation of our Lives!

Michael D - Connecticut, USA
The Grand Canyon 6 Day Trip was indescribable! It just is not possible to tell in words, the beauty and magnificence of the landscape and vistas. The knowledge of our guides in the chronological and natural history of the area was immense. My wife who was incredibly nervous and reluctant about this aspect of the trip, was pleasantly pleased by her flight in the helicopter. This provided the icing on the cake of what we consider to be the best vacation experience of our lives.

Trip of a Lifetime!

Claire - Ontario, Canada
We had an absolutely amazing crew! Very intelligent young adults, so knowledgeable of the history of the Grand Canyon. Professional, humorous, thoughtful, kind, caring and the list goes on and on. The preparation of meals and excursions was unreal. It was a trip of a lifetime for us and we will dream and rave about this Grand Canyon vacation for a long time to come. Spectacular! Thank you so much for everything. Amazing, exciting, great adrenaline rushes, very serene and scenic like we have never seen before.

The Ultimate Grand Canyon Raft

The Ultimate Grand Canyon Raft

As you'll be rafting down the Grand Canyon for nearly 200 miles, the raft you ride becomes an integral part of your experience in terms of relaxation, whitewater, and ability to move about. While you'll certainly be getting on and off the raft quite a bit every day, your comfort on the raft is important. Western River Expeditions uses a patented raft called the "J-Rig." This raft offers one of the most comfortable rides on a Grand Canyon whitewater rafting trip. You'll find plenty of space to stretch out and relax in the calm sections of the river and one of the most exciting rides in the whitewater stretches. With plenty of seat positions to choose from, you can decide whether you'll ride up front for more action or further back for a calmer experience.
