Commend the Awesome Guides
Words will never adequately express how I felt about my experience from Sept 5 to Sept 11, 2017!
My husband and 4 of our very dear friends set out on an adventure that forever affected our lives! We were on the 7 day/6 night and our guides were Lutke, Joey, Lat and Steph (with helpers and family of Lat, Brandon and Char). We were completely blown away, day one, by the absolute excellent customer service and attention to every detail. While the trip entailed a moderate amount of effort and patience when setting up our tents/cot/campsite, etc., all that was overshadowed and rewarded by the amazing culinary talents of our guides.....and more. How do you have Bananas Foster complete with ice cream on day 4 in the middle of nowhere at the bottom of a canyon????
I loved sleeping outside under a beautiful full moon and waking up to the call for Cowboy Coffee (yes, even at 5:30 am!). The new friends we met were icing on the cake.....oh yea, speaking of cakes...how about freshly baked cakes at camp??
I really want to commend our guides. Every single one of them were so awesome. Lat, as the leader, clearly is one of the sweetest men I've ever met! He always started every address/talk with some sort of praise for us and kept us informed at all times. Lutke's explanation of the geological history of the Grand Canyon and all the history of the Colorado River and naming of the rapids..well, he was simply amazing. He's pretty great at sharing cowboy poems as well!! Joey, he kept our boat safe while giving some of us the thrill of our lives. His beautiful harmonica playing of Amazing Grace, then How Great Thou Art brought many of us to tears, so special.....I think my favorite moment of the week! Steph, tho not on our boat, always made customer service her number one goal and she surely did a great job keeping up with the boys!! All four guides had nothing but smiles and answers to our questions....it was also amazing to see how they all worked together as a team. I realized quickly how much they all love what they do...how impassioned they feel about where they work and how they literally sacrifice their own families to make a difference in participant's lives...So much of this trip was amazing because of them! Thanks again for a perfect trip!
