Summer Vacation Ideas in Utah

I brought my daughter on the Southwest Sampler vacation, and it couldn't have been more wonderful. The scenery in Utah is breath-taking, almost other-worldly. I have never seen anything like the formations in Arches National Park. It appears in some places that there are huge castles built out of rock, and in others, groups of women gossiping, priests in conference, a mother attending to a baby in a carriage, etc. and they are named accordingly. Molly, our guide for the Arches hike and Hummer expedition was such a remarkable character! She was funny, knowledgeable, and a kick-butt driver (thank God)! Her laugh is probably still echoing through the canyons as I type this.
The young guides on our rafting trip, Jake and Lou, were also fantastic. They were so welcoming and friendly that we instantly felt comfortable. They too were both very knowledgeable about the state of Utah, and all things related to the Colorado River. Jake sang songs from Hamilton as he navigated the river, and Lou taught me the memorable skill of toe-fishing! I won't describe it here, you'll just have to plan a trip! Sleeping under the stars with the sound of the rapids will be a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Thank you for the adventure, we will never forget it.
