Simply Amazing….Colorado River Adventures
I've read so many of the other beautifully written reviews, I'm not sure what else there is to say - it's simply an amazing trip that you will talk about for years to come after you've left the raft!
My daughter and I did the 6-day Grand Canyon trip and to say we were nervous about what I had gotten us into would be an understatement! We aren't outdoorsy or adventurous by nature but have traveled quite a bit so I thought this would be a good way to disconnect and do something completely outside our comfort zone. Start to finish Western River Expeditions does a fantastic job communicating both prior to the trip and then once you're on the river. Our guides quickly communicated what to expect and what you need to know not just at the start of the trip but along the way as well.
Everything from the many other reviews is true from the beautiful scenery to the food to the people you meet along the way and share the raft with to the stories and history of the Grand Canyon as told by the guides - it all makes for an unforgettable adventure! Notice I didn't call it a vacation - there is work involved on your part from the fire line getting things on and off the raft (which takes all of 15 minutes) and setting up your individual camp site each night (i.e tent, cot - again good time to mention we didn't know how to do any of this but it couldn't have been easier). Don't let any of that scare you off - the "work" is part of the experience. On the simplest level it brings a group of strangers closer together and along the way maybe you'll learn some things about yourself which you didn't know before.
Don't think too hard about it, just reserve your trip! Watch the videos, follow the packing list and enjoy every minute because it will be over before you know it!
