We LOVED our river trip down Desolation Canyon. It's the best way to unplug. By the second day, I was relieved from my day-to-day concerns at home and was able to focus on the present and just be with my family. We loved playing games together with the other families and guides and swimming and paddling the "ducky" over rapids! We thoroughly enjoyed some deep conversations that sprung up over dinner and on the rafts. Our 7-year-old son said this trip was better than Lego Land! haha - now THAT is saying something. I love what happens when people are brought together by a love of nature. OH! And the wildlife was super fun! We even saw a bear, an eagle, beaver, 10 or more rocky Mt. sheep, lizards, kangaroo mouse footprints, and several blue herons.
I love this pic because it is of a 14-year-old girl and her dad from our trip - I watched her consider trying out the ducky every day, and every day she said no thanks, until the last day when she went for it. I was impressed by her courage and super proud of her!
