Amazing is an understatement! My husband and I decided to bring our two daughters with us on our 20 year wedding anniversary. 2020 has been a crazy year so we figured we would do a crazy adventure. Our 6-day Grand Canyon rafting adventure was perfect! I cannot say enough about how professional and enthusiastic and safe our guides were. Mackay and Lu ran our boat along with Mark and Emily who ran the other crew.
Together they were top notch.
My daughters are 15 and 12 and they came back so impressed with how Lu and Mackay engaged with them. It was especially good to see Lu and Emily work so hard as young women in their 20s. They weren’t afraid to get dirty or messy, work hard or be uncomfortable and Mackay never lost his composure or swagger. They told us fantastic stories, knew incredible bits of history and really made my girls feel safe. There was one time when my 15 year old got nervous about an upcoming rapid. As she was talking about her fears, we asked her, would Mackay and Lu ever make you do something you couldn’t handle? She stopped her tears and said “No. I completely trust them”. THAT'S big!
She sat up front and charged Hermit like a champ!
I won’t lie though, the trip was not glamorous. We were hot, we were sweaty, we were dirty, and we roughed it but it was so good to be present, with nothing but the clothes in a rucksack and be completely unplugged.
A unforgettable journey of 188 miles from Lake Powell to Lava Falls.
