We recently returned from the Western River Expedition Southwest Sampler trip with our 12-year-old grandson, and we can confidently say—it was spectacular from start to finish! Everything about the trip was first class, and the guides were truly outstanding—professional, personable, and clearly passionate about what they do.
This was the perfect blend of adventure and comfort for a multi-generational family getaway. Our grandson had an absolute blast—from the thrilling Hummer excursion to exploring the stunning landscapes of Arches National Park. But the crown jewel of the trip for him (and honestly, for us too!) was the overnight rafting trip on the Colorado River. The gentle Class II rapids were just the right amount of excitement, and the calm stretches gave us time to float, swim, and take in the incredible scenery.
The overnight campsite was breathtaking, and the guides made us feel completely at home under the stars. They cooked up a delicious grilled chicken dinner and topped it off with warm Dutch oven cake—yes, cake over a campfire! We all went to bed full, happy, and surrounded by nature’s beauty.
This was a memory-making trip of a lifetime, and we’re so grateful we got to share it with our grandson. He loved every minute, and we’ll be talking about it around the dinner table for years to come! Highly recommend for families looking to bond through adventure and awe-inspiring experiences.
