I cannot begin to describe what an awesome experience this was for me. I am 72 and had never done anything quite so far out of my comfort zone. I knew I wanted to have a great adventure and I found it. So many see the Grand Canyon from the top down, but few get to experience it from the river up! The rock formations and the way the light hits them is incredible. I probably could not have done the trip if my daughter had not been there to help me with my gear. I am not as athletic as I once was and hauling my dry bag up hill not always easy for me. When I got home I found out that I am anemic. Could explain the weakness. The guides on our boats were absolutely the best. Daniel maneuvered the raft through the rapids with precision. Dustin was knowledgeable and always right where he needed to be if someone needed help on the rapids. He entertained us with poems and stories of the River. Steve was great at keeping us informed on how and what we needed to do. I was not able to make on of the hikes and he and I talked at great length while most of the others hiked. I don’t even know where to begin with Reese! He was entertaining and funny, but always there to help if someone was in need. The food was incredible! These guys started at sunrise and made the best breakfast, lunch and dinners and did all the other things to keep us happy. They finally rested when the sun went down and we all collapsed on our cots. It was truly a fantastic experience for me and I would do it again! I met some really great people on the journey and hope to see them again. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime for me.
