Western River Expeditions made our first trip down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon an epic adventure. The company has been operating for over 60 years, and that experience is felt along every step of the journey. We were taught about the geology of the canyon, learned stories about each rapid, explored Native American history, spotted wildlife, and were shown impressive waterfalls and side waterways. We felt safe throughout the entire journey.
The food was out of this world, including a hot breakfast every morning, lunch at a new sandbar every day, and a three-course dinner each night. Our guides really connected with us, and we felt like an extension of their family. It seemed like they had a surprise for us every night, including Captain's night, where they baked cakes and we celebrated birthdays. We had ice cream on night 4! Camping in the canyon is special as you stare up at the stars and listen to the river rush by. The J-rig raft is comfortable and provides the best view of the river as you float downstream. I highly recommend Western River Expeditions!
