We had a fabulous trip with Western River Expeditions. They did a fabulous job of setting expectations and communicating prior to the trip. Our guides were well experienced and prioritized our safety while making sure we had a blast!
We went mid-July when the river still had not plateaued but was past its highest point. We had great rapids and the water was comfortably warm. While we cannot predict the river conditions, if given the opportunity again, I would book the first half of July again.
I think the highlights were how much we got to experience in a 4-day trip: relaxing floats down the Colorado, awesome white water rafting, hikes to beautiful views and petroglyphs, scenic flight back to Moab, sleeping under the bright moon, seeing a variety of animals, fun in the rain, and more.
While I'm glad to be showering, sleeping in my own bed, and using a toilet that flushes, this trip is one you don't want to miss!
Packing Tips:
Kids: While I didn't bring my kids, there were a few on our trip. I enjoyed watching them instantly becoming friends and using their imagination to have fun in the wilderness.
