The evening of the first day of the excursion was unforgettable because of a tremendous wind and rain storm that overturned tents and saturated, well…everything. Four inches of rain and hail fell over approximately 25 minutes. Somehow, the guides managed to save the grilled chicken dinner! I did not know I had scheduled my trip during monsoon season.
The remainder of the trip had clear skies and mild August temperatures. On two successive nights, we saw the Milky Way.
