Phenomenal Experience, Food, and Views That Make An Imprint on the Heart

My husband and I joined a Western River Expeditions 3 day Grand Canyon rafting trip for our 17th Anniversary. To say that it was an amazing time would be an understatement. Western River Expeditions is an A+ organization. They think of every aspect to make the journey seemless and smooth. From the departure in Las Vegas on a tour bus with a fresh served-to-go breakfast and snacks, to the comfortable journey to the airport for the 8 passenger plane ride to Bar 10 ranch, everything was well planned and throughally thought out with an extreme level of intentionality and foresight.

When we arrived to the Bar Ten Ranch our unplugged vacation greeted us with no wifi and ample opportunities to engage with and meet new people. Every 7 minutes people were coming and going, flying in and out in helicopters to and from the Grand Canyon. The helicopter ride was so smooth and a wondrous experience as you went from the top to the Grand Canyon to the Colorado River that flows down through the Grand Canyon. From there you receive a day bag, dry bag, water bottle and experience the coordination of the lead guide on how to enter the J-Rig as well as, camp life, to river rafting, and getting to know the guides as well as fellow adventurers. It put one at ease and the process was refreshing, disarming, and fun.

Being on the J-Rig was a state of the art experience. Paco, Swan, Aaron and our guide leader were world class. They kept us hydrated, engaged, and well fed throughout the trip. Not only did we learn water and rafting safety, interesting stories of past events that took place in thd Grand Canyon as we journeyed, but they shared life with the other 35 passengers and guides. My husband and I felt their intention and sincerity, professionalism, passion, snd care as they welcomed all 33 of us into the Western River Expeditions family.

The views from the River bed and water were breath-taking. Sleeping under the stars, millions and millions of sparkling stars was better than I even imagined. Having an unimpeded view of the Grand Canyon starlight while lounging in a warm July breeze at night was way beyond my expectations. The rapids progressed in intensity as they guided us along our journey during each day once we broke camp.

On the J-rig there was the choice of seating from wet and wild, to splashed intermittently, or the lounge where you could sun and sleep or just lie still. There was a place for everyone from age 9 to 100+.

Team work, safety and fun was the mission and they made the hard stuff look easy. Our guides were experienced professionals who worked early and throughout the day to ensure that this experience was ample, tangible, and exceptional.

Yes this journey through and with Western River Expeditions was and will ever be the best way to travel down the Grand Canyon! From 2 tour busses, a J-Rig, a helicopter, jet boat, mud boat, and delicious meals, to ample water rafting and exceptional views, the opportunities to engage in a life experience that will change the way you experience the finer things in life, you really can't go wrong with journeys through Western River Expedition. I will be bringing my family to adventure together from top to the bottom of the Grand Canyon to Lake Meade with Western River Expeditions. You won't regret going with them and making memories to enhance your life today and your relationship for decades to come.
