I recently completed my second trip down through the Grand Canyon. It is a life-changing experience. I find it truly difficult to express in words, but you will come to know the calmness of a gentle motor between towering canyon walls, the shock of a morning rapid to awaken the senses, the bond of strangers embarking on a journey, and the vastness of a starscape unburdened by the glow of modern times. In two trips down the river, I have camped at disparate places, taken different hikes, and lived two similar but wholly different vacations.
Recommend is not a strong enough word. I implore you to take this journey.
P.S. Maybe do a little yoga or stretching beforehand. For the full experience, you'll need to sit at the front of the boat; and you'll need to suck some rubber.
