Excellent Cataract Canyon trip in July. The travel was adventurous, the weather was hot and sunny, the river was cooling, the food was great, the camping was rewarding, and our guides were first-class. This expedition is just the right length for someone to get away from civilization and really appreciate the spectacular nature of the Colorado River. The J-rig boats were comfortable on the calm stretches and safe running the rapids...and the rapids were wild enough to give you a real whitewater experience. The canyon was spectacular and day hiking added a nice complement to river travel. Our guides were well informed and highly competent. They were careful to keep everyone well informed and safe, yet not overbearing. The menus were very well planned. The amount and type of food was just right. Travel to (by bus) and from (by small plane) the river was on-time and efficient. Overall, five stars.
