Adventure Trips with Friends

★★★★★ 4.9 OUT OF 2841 REVIEWS

Some trips are worth talking about for years. Rafting the Grand Canyon, exploring the red rock wilderness of Utah, or running the Salmon River in Idaho with your closest friends gives you something remarkable to experience and accomplish together.

And the stories! The big rapids, hidden waterfalls, hilarious moments, and nights spent laughing under a sky full of stars become the stories you'll bring up every time you're together.

Life gets busy, and time with good friends can be hard to come by. A few days on the river, away from phones, schedules, and everyday distractions, gives you the chance to catch up, relax, and simply enjoy each other's company.

There's something special about sharing the excitement with people you know so well. With experienced guides handling the rafting, meals, and major details, you can leave the usual vacation planning behind and enjoy every new discovery together. Maybe it's time to finally take that trip you've all been talking about.

"A Bunch of Buddies, One Great Trip"

★★★★★

Took the 7-day rafting trip with a bunch of buddies. Everything was beyond. Scenery and overall experience get top marks. Food, guides, and professionalism of the team come in a close second. Hikes offered on the 7-day trip were completely worth the additional day. Would recommend this trip to anyone and everyone. Trip of a lifetime. Can't wait to do it again.

"Just Book It"

★★★★★

Just got back from a seven day trip with friends. This trip exceeded expectations. The river, scenery, and hikes were all amazing. Mark, Stephen (and Hank), Nick, and Josh were an amazing crew. They went above and beyond across the board. If you are on the fence, just book it, you won't regret it.

Friends Trip Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is a rafting trip a good idea for a group of friends?

It's one of the best. A multi-day river trip puts your whole group in the same boats, out of cell range, and fully present for a few days, which is exactly what most friend trips are missing. You share the rapids, the hikes, and the evenings in camp, and the guides handle everything else so no one has to host.

  • Do we all need to be experienced rafters or in great shape?

No. Most of our guests are first-timers, and a typical friend group is a mix of comfort levels. You should be able to walk on uneven ground and hold on during rapids, but guides brief the group before every big rapid and there is a place for everyone on the boat. Optional hikes are always a choice.

  • How do we book a trip for a group of friends? Does one person have to collect everyone's money?

No money to collect. Once you pick a trip and date, we set up a private group booking link, and each friend reserves and pays for their own spot through it. That means no spreadsheets and no chasing people down. Call our reservations team at (801) 459-3525 to get your group started.

  • Do you offer special rates or benefits for groups and private charters?

Yes. While our standard trip rates generally apply to all guests, we offer a special benefit for qualifying groups: the person who organizes the group may travel free.

  • Which trips are best for a group of friends?

It depends on the vibe. For the flagship bucket-list trip together, the 6-Day Grand Canyon is the one. For a shorter Grand Canyon experience, see our other Grand Canyon Trips. For a high-energy, the 4 Day Cataract Canyon delivers big whitewater without a full week off. Hells Canyon and the Main Salmon in Idaho are also group favorites.

  • What are the sleeping and camping arrangements?

Camping equipment is all provided. Cots or pads, sleeping bags with tents available for privacy. Bathroom systems are private and well organized, and the guides walk everyone through how it all works.

  • Can we get a private trip just for our group of friends?

Yes. If your group is large enough, or you simply want the trip to yourselves, you can reserve a private group trip so you won't share the river or camp with outside guests. Request a group charter or call (801) 459-3525 and we'll help you plan it.
