Guests often inquire what hiking opportunities there are when they are thinking of joining a Western River Colorado River whitewater rafting trip in the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon 6 or 7-day trips offer amazing hikes into slot canyons and waterfalls that can only by reached from the river corridor.
Western’s 187 mile trip beginning at the put in at Lees Ferry and taking our by helicopter at Whitmore Wash would typically include the following scenic stops.
Nankoweep Granaries, Vasey’s Paradise, Redwall Cavern, The Little Colorado, Elves Chasm, Deer Creek, Havasu, and then perhaps others as time permits such as Stone Creek, Blacktail Canyon, Shinumo, and one of my favorites, Matkatamiba. Getting to visit these scenic and amazing places is just part of the grand adventure of a Colorado River tour in the Grand Canyon.
Come and join us. We still have a few 6-day dates available. It truly is the trip of a lifetime.
