It was my father’s 30-year dream to raft the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon with our family. He had planned our 6-day rafting trip with Western River almost a year in advance. When he passed away suddenly on May 16, 2010, we decided to take our August 3-8, 2010 trip in his memory. This photo is of my boyfriend, Scott and myself, Camille, under one of the many waterfalls we hiked to. We were so happy to be able to rinse the river water off, even for a few minutes! The adventure overall was amazing and helped to heal our family during a time when we were so sad.
