My son’s and I experienced an adventure far beyond our expectations. While we had heard about the unbelievable wild rapids on the Colorado River, I never expected to experience such a sense of serenity and stillness. I was moved many times to quiet tears as I experienced a vastness that seem to have no end. Even in quieter waters there was always a force of forward movement which felt as dangerous as it was beautiful. Something larger that us was at work here. I have this photo of Lucky’s flag captured in the light of the Grand Canyon walls framed and on my computer. It brings me back to a sense of awe and peacefulness.
