Best Vacation EVER! Grand Canyon Whitewater Rafting

Words cannot adequately describe the splendor of this Grand Canyon whitewater rafting trip!

For the most part, the weather cooperated, it rained one afternoon, and the wind blew several nights in camp, moving the sand enough to dampen our spirits.

The scenery was awesome. The aqua colors of the Little Colorado River might be the most beautiful place on earth! Around each corner was another surprise waiting to enthrall us. Captain Ronnie always had an informative, interesting tidbit about the local area, and when she was busy driving the boat, first mate Nick took over. Their knowledge of the river was awe inspiring!

The food was a problem! I gained 10 pounds in a week. I never eat that good at home. I was constantly amazed at the fare they pulled out of that boat. Drinks were still ice cold on the 7th day!

After all that, I think the hikes were the best part of the trip. Once or twice a day we hopped off the boat and took a stroll along one amazing trail after another. Anasazi ruins, petroglyphs, several water falls, and some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

I'm ready to go back next week!
