Grand Canyon Whitewater Rafting
We were planning a trip to Italy when my father asked my daughter if she would rather join them on a Grand Canyon whitewater rafting trip. He showed her the Western River website and within 15 minutes our Italy trip was canceled, and we were going to the Grand Canyon.
I pushed for the 3-day trip, then the 4-day, and thought I was being more than fair by agreeing to the 6-day trip. My father insisted on the 7-day trip. At the time, I was not thrilled. I was scared of the rapids, of being uncomfortable camping, of my daughter complaining she missed the iPad. I am happy to say this was the best trip I have ever taken. By the third day I was ready to sign up again, and my 12-year-old daughter gave me a hug thanking me for bringing her.
This great experience is due to the combination of the beauty of the Canyon and to the outstanding crew (Wiley, Ben, Melissa and Dan). They are capable, smart, helpful, kind, funny and professional. The beauty of the Grand Canyon is indescribable. The history and geology are fascinating. It is an experience of a lifetime. Also, a big thank you to Sandy who coordinated everything.
