Water Low, Spirits High – Cataract Canyon 4 Day
Incredible scenery enhanced by knowledgeable and skilled Western River guides provided a lifetime experience that will not soon be forgotten.
Organized and efficient, our jocular Western River crew had us on the Colorado River heading for adventure while pointing out the ancient scenery and habitat we were being invited to enter.
We dined in spaces created by water sculpting , menus full of ample choices of delicious fresh market staples-blueberries and spinach being one of my favorites after the dutch oven creations of pineapple upside down cake.
The nights were filled with star shows with the Milky Way so close you could almost touch it.
The river held us captive as the blue herons and rocky mountain big horn sheep came to the shores. We rushed past them, paddling while the boat veered from the precipitous gaping mouth of a "hole", popping us downstream ready to "hit " the next big wave. Our great team of Becky, Andrew, Mickelle, Jeff and Lane kept our boats and spirits high as we careened through the canyons, floated/swam down the river and hiked.
The glimpse at ancient petroglyphs awakened ties with the past and only heightened the wonder of the future we may create. Thank you again for such a great trip. We would recommend this river rafting company highly.
