Mile 209 - Granite Park & 209 Mile Rapid

Faulting has taken place here exposing granite outcroppings, and creating an unusually wide spot in the river. The river drops significantly downstream of Granite Park and S-turns through some exciting whitewater. In the upper portion of 209 Mile Rapid a large hole lifts and crashes back upon itself over and over, most boaters avoid this powerful feature.
