Southwest Sampler is the perfect package for someone who just has a fairly short amount of time, wants to see Moab, Utah, some of the best things it has to offer. You get a couple of nights of comfortable accommodations in town, you get to explore Arches National Park. You do an off-road Hummer safari, and then you’re off to the river for two days and one night of camping on the Colorado River.
This is our first time in Moab, Utah. And we chose to do the Southwest Sampler.
Coming out and seeing Arches National Park, and Canyonlands for the first time, I was…jaw dropped. I did not expect it.
Everyone who lives on the East Coast should experience this.
Pretty amazing.
The first day, we head into Arches National Park. We spend the morning doing some short hike [sic] and exploring Arches. And then finish with a lunch. And then there’s a break for the afternoon, until meeting again in the evening for a sunset Hummer tour.
The experience here in Moab, really turned out to be a great family event for us.
It’s just a great family vacation to go on, because you can get away from everything.
Arches National Park is breathtaking. Massive. Indescribably beautiful.
Arches National Park – words cannot describe, because of, just the majesty of it all.
I’m blown away by everything out here.
There’s nothing like it.
When people come to Moab, Utah, the first thing they notice is the red rocks. And most people come to visit the national parks – Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park. Hummer Safari is one of the craziest car rides you’ll ever be in. Uh, you are rock crawling over these super steep rock formations.
The Hummer Safari was amazing. It was intense. It was exciting. It was thrilling.
It gets your blood going. It’s another thing that you should experience.
The hummer climbs a bunch of rocks. You get really scared and it was so fun.
To be able to be with your family, and go on something crazy and wild. We were up this top of this rock there, and the sunset was just, like, setting behind the mountain. It was gorgeous.
Gonzo Inn was very nice. We enjoyed our stay there. They were polite, helpful and uh, able to direct us to all the local items that we inquired about.
Oh, I love the Gonzo. Gonzo Inn, excellent accommodations. Very friendly people. Well appointed rooms. I’m very happy with the Gonzo Inn.
The two day rafting camp is great. We go through the Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River. And then spend the night at Onion Creek, which is probably the prettiest campsite I’ve ever camped at. Uh, watching the sunsets here, and the stars at night is awesome.
On the river, the water fighting was fun. It was great how everyone came together.
The one rapid that we’ve been through so far, that was really fun. And I think it’s just going to get better from here.
The river is really, really cool. I’m really excited to go over all the rapids.
The rafting experience - I just really could not imagine it until I got here and actually saw it, and was on it, and experienced it.
I think the best part of the two-day rafting trip for people, is camping overnight at Onion Creek. It’s just a whole new experience for them. They love it.
Since this is the first time that I’ve been camping, it was pretty amazing to be out here on my birthday, yeah.
Sleeping out underneath the stars last night – pictures really just don’t do it justice.
Sleeping underneath the stars was breathtaking.
You wake up in the morning, you’re served a hot breakfast. And then we get to go run a few rapids. It’s a great trip.
It’s been amazing. Ten out of a Ten. I would suggest it for everyone.
This was one of the few family trips that we have taken. It was great because I think it brought us a lot closer together.
We had felt a closeness to nature. Closeness as a family unit. Just a nice way to get away from it all.
It’s really nice knowing that I’m providing vacations that are changing people’s lives.
For those who are looking for an experience that kind of gives them a little bit of everything, the Southwest Sampler really is a fantastic choice. For those who are thinking, I’d like to camp on the river, but I’m not ready for multiple nights, the Southwest Sampler is a great option. Get out. Try it for one night, see how easy it is. You may fall in love with it, and want to come back for a six or seven day trip with Western River Expeditions, where you can really feel the magic that uh, that the river, and these wonderful areas in the Southwest, have to offer.
