Mile 10 - Ten Mile Rock

A thick and towering chunk of Coconino Sandstone parts the waters of the river near mile 10. At some point in the past, this monolith tumbled into the river after breaking from the canyon walls hundreds of feet above. Les Jones’s early river maps called the boulder Slab Rock.
