Mile 125 - Fossil Rapid

The rapid makes the shape of an S as the current races along the right shoreline, then to the left shoreline, and back again to the right. The name comes from the fossils found in the rocks of the canyon directly adjacent to the rapid. Native Americans farmed the small delta at Fossil during historic times, and possibly during prehistoric times as well.
