We came to Las Vegas and got a bus ride to the airport. Flew into the Bar 10, quite an exciting little flight. Beautiful views as you came in. Landed on a squiggly runway. Took off from the tiny little heli-pad, which was about two feet in diameter larger than the footpad of the helicopter. And then off into the Grand Canyon. The helicopter flight into the starting point on our trip, on the river was very exhilarating.
Being down here in the bottom of the Grand Canyon with my husband and all of our new friends has been magical. It’s beautiful, you’re in a perfect setting. The river crew are fabulous, they make you feel right at home – very comfortable. I highly recommend it, it’s a fabulous trip. This is the first time I’ve ever camped and I would definitely do it again. It’s wonderful to be out in nature. It’s wonderful to get away from a phone, a TV, a radio and it’s magical.
There’s absolutely no distractions. You don’t have the outside world. You’re not even thinking about any of the stresses back home. It’s complete relaxation.
It has not been a difficult transition from going a 100 miles an hour to going to maybe a half a mile an hour. Just being here, and seeing this massive, beautiful, natural gift from God has been my highlight.
It’s great fun. It’s exciting to run through the rapids up at the front of the raft. The water is pretty brisk, but the warm air temperature warms you up in almost an instant.
Our guides are fabulous. Not one thing was left for our need or liking. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend anybody to come. Anybody, great trip.
