Mile 108.5 - Shinumo Creek

A hike from the river less than 100 yards up Shinumo Creek is a fantastic place to escape on a sunny day. The water of Shinumo is almost always clear and relatively warm. A small waterfall and pool below offer a great place to explore, or simply float around and relax in. The metamorphic rocks which line the creek are polished and smooth providing places to sit when one needs a break from swimming in the creek. Shinumo is a unique word which is Southern Paiute in origin.
