Mile 137.5-139 - Doris & Fishtail Rapids

Often overlooked, both Doris and Fishtail Rapids cause great relief on hot and sunny afternoons, or shivering and chattering teeth on shady mornings. Doris is named after Doris Nevills, wife and partner of river pioneer and commercial boatman Norman Nevills. Fishtail Mesa, is located thousands of feet above the rapid.
