Mile 25 - 25 Mile Rapid (Hansborough-Richards Rapid)

Peter Hansborough and Henry Richards of the 1889 Brown-Stanton expedition, drowned here after their boat was pushed up against an overhanging cliff, which knocked them into the water. The financier of the trip, Frank Brown, had neglected to purchase lifejackets for the members of the expedition including himself. This terrible occurrence took place just six days after Brown himself, died in a similar fashion in the riffle below Soap Creek Rapid.
