Granite Rapid

Mile 93.5 - Granite Rapid

As the river rounds a bend, Granite Rapid comes into view. Rocks and boulders pushed out of Monument Creek have constricted the river against the right wall. The wall produces massive waves that converge at 45 degree angles with equally large waves coming from the left shoreline. Granite is very steep, making boat travel through the rapid very swift.
