I’ve been on a few river trips now and I love them. Every time it’s a little bit different and it’s a perfect family trip. We’ve been on a cruise before and it seemed like the kids were always in the kid’s area and the adults were always off doing their thing. We had memories, but they weren’t really together. On the river we play in the mud, we make little drip castles, and the kids get so excited. They don’t have to be clean! They can just play in the dirt and they’re just thrilled. You have to beg them to come out of the water.
Today I was just going through the last rapids before we pulled out for lunch, and I was watching Noah’s face, and he was just so happy. It’s not a smile that is a result of a movie or video game, or something that is fleeting, but genuinely having so much fun. I love that. When you are with your family on the beach and you watch that sunset and the canyon walls just light up, and you see the stars at night when you’re laying on your cots together it's magic. It’s precious memories. This experience really bonds you together, you really grow together. It’s an amazing trip for families.
