Amazing.
My husband and I recently went on the 4-day Grand Canyon trip with Western River Expeditions and we find ourselves at a loss for words to describe how utterly amazing the experience was. We had this trip planned for over a year as a celebration of several milestones, my 60th Birthday, our 10 year wedding anniversary and my husband’s 10 year anniversary of a massive hemorrhagic stroke and his miraculous recovery.
The “expedition”, as our trip leader reminded us it truly is, was everything we hoped and dreamed of, and so much more.
From the minute we met our guides we recognized their expertise, their ability to put us at ease and tell us just what we needed to know, when we needed to know it…and we soon learned how much they would entertain us and prepare amazing meals too! We found this trip is about learning to trust, and to let go of fear while hanging on tight when you need to. All this while relaxing and simply marveling at the majesty of the Canyon walls, the river and the history and beauty that has been so lovingly preserved, and is expertly presented by the guides.
Did we mention how wonderful the guides were? The trust and comradery we felt with Joe, Kelly, Jeff and Ronnie and the friendships that emerged with fellow ‘rafters’ in such a short time really ‘made’ the trip and we sadly said our goodbyes with hugs all around on the last morning. We simply cannot imagine a more well organized, sincere and passionate group of people or organization and we are so happy we chose WRE for this trip of our lifetime, so far. We are thinking of doing the 6 day trip for our 70th birthdays...or sooner!
