An Amazing Experience and Unique Way to Escape “Modern Life”

My recent Cataract Canyon trip was just filled with amazing experiences. In my "mundane" life I am generally plugged in 24/7, and the opportunity to escape that for a few days, and see things (the milky way across a stunning night sky, the stark beauty of the canyon), experience things (the whitewater rapids, hiking up a 1200-foot canyon wall), and bond with great people was worth every penny.

Western River Expeditions runs a very smooth trip, taking care of all the logistics so you can just enjoy yourself and really live the experiences. The guides were awesome - they worked as hard as mules, and had the enthusiasm of people who really enjoy their jobs and like interacting with people. And the people - the chance to bond with strangers and over just a few days become close friends with a group is an under-promoted part of what made the trip so enjoyable.

The experiences themselves - the nature, the hiking, the rafting and camping were everything I expected them to be and more. You do find out a bit about yourself - I discovered how much I like hiking, and overcame the fear to jump down off a 25 foot ledge into a pool at the base of a waterfall.

I highly recommend this vacation, it will truly put you in a different place, a different world for a few days!
