Breathtaking Country, Fun, Unique
I have done a fair amount of travelling in my day. However, I am not a camper! My husband signed our family up for this trip (two daughters, 17 and 14) and I had no idea what we were in for (nothing to do with how great Western River Expeditions was regarding pre-trip info and prep).
The landscape is magnificent. Sleeping under a blanket of stars was magical...I highly recommend you do not sleep in your tent and I NEVER thought I would say that! The food is great. I do not know how these guys pull it off, but they fed us well! As for the guides, they make the trip. Taylor, Steve, Alex and Brian. Cannot say enough good things about these four. They were professional, funny, engaged, extremely competent. They had it down to an art form keeping us relaxed but absolutely safe. The land and river are extraordinary to experience and worth it for that alone but our guides made the trip what it was beyond that.
Lastly, you really do get a very fun and unique time with the other rafters. We had a pretty special bunch. I don't know if everyone feels that way afterward and you really can have as much or as little to do with the others as you like but our group was lovely and wonderful.
