Can’t wait to do it again
Let me start by saying that we brought our 2 very active boys (12 & 14) who love their baseball but also love electronic devices. We were not sure if they could survive the Grand Canyon river trip w/ out their mobile phone, Xbox and their TV. However, it was a total success! They did not utter the words "I am bored once" during the entire trip. In fact, they flat out told us that it was their most favorite trip of all times. The guides were extremely helpful, funny, great cooks and very knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon and its history. Staying at the ranch and spending the night under the stars and/or in the covered wagon was also unforgetable. I would do it again and would consider the 6-day trip since I hear the rapids are stronger in the first 3 days of the trip. The grotto was a nice treat and taking small hiking trips w/ the group and the guides was very interesting. There is nothing like sleeping under the stars with no sounds, no artificial city lights (in fact no lights at all) and watching shooting stars go by every few minutes. Though sleeping on the cots was not very comfortable, it was an awesome experience that I will never forget. The rest of the folks on the boat were very nice and not once did anybody complain about anything. The kids became best of friends by the end of the 3rd day and I even felt a bit sad to say goodbye at the end. Great job guys!
