How to Find Yourself in Six Days
A heartfelt thank you to Mark, the crew and the whole Western River team.
I had never seen the Grand Canyon before this trip, and perhaps it was meant to be that way. I went to celebrate my 55th birthday, and what a gift this trip turned out to be. We had the best crew we could have hoped for (thanks Mark, Kurt, Cass) they really made this experience a joy. Their knowledge of the river and canyon, the best riverside meals I have ever had, the good humor and the stories along the way, and expert placement of our "J" rig into each rapid would be hard to surpass.
As for the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon, I will not try to describe it here. I feel it must be experienced first-hand, and I will leave that to the next lucky group climbing on a "J" rig at Lee's Ferry.
