It Exceeded My Expectations
38 years ago my dear friend Lenny and I hiked to Phantom Ranch and camped for a night. On the way out we saw a raft coming through the rapids and we commented that we would like to try it. Since then several of my friends had gone on Western River Expeditions trips and told me it was a once in a life time experience. My son and I were watching Ken Burn's latest documentary on the National Parks. The segment was on the Grand Canyon. We went to the computer and booked the trip for 6. Being recently married it seemed an ideal way to get the two families to bond. The trip not only did that but was truly an experience of a lifetime. Sleeping outdoors with the canyon walls as a vista, with a full moon to cast it's own shadows across the river as well as the planeterium effect of watching the stars. The guides Chase, Nick, Brian, and Jeremy were excellent in making sure we had fun, were safe, well informed of the history and were all great cooks. This is a trip that most people should put on their bucket list. Thank you Western River Expeditions for a great Expedition.
