Mom’s 80th Birthday on the Colorado River in the Cataract Canyon

My mom, Millie, has had river rafting on her bucket list for 25 years. We wanted to have an exciting whitewater rafting experience but not too much fear for her falling into the river. Because we booked this trip asking for an oar guide boat, mom and I were placed in a boat with a very experienced guide; Megan. The scenery was spectacular, the guides gave extensive canyon history and were extremely personable. We swam in the Colorado River multiple times daily. The food was so delicious! UNBELIEVABLE; appetizers, main course, dessert. Breakfast was hot and filling. Sleeping under the stars was relaxing and by the end of the trip we had made many new friends. We will be returning to the Cataract Canyon and we highly highly recommend this rafting trip! If you want "high excitement" just ask to be in a paddle boat and thrills are very accessible.
