A Raft Trip Like No Other
When the thought occurred to me how incredible it must be to see 'The Grand Canyon' from the river up I immediately set to exploring my options. After reading countless reviews I easily settled on Western River. I wasn't the only one planning because my first 2 choice dates were already filled. My fault for not making my plans sooner. Online reservations were easy and a few further questions were answered over the phone quickly and efficiently.
We (my husband and I) were VERY well prepared for the trip to the river getting exactly what we were told to. Both pilots we encountered were friendly and competent. What I WASN'T prepared for was the beauty of the canyon! No picture is the same as being there. Our guides Ronnie and Jeff, had so much knowledge to offer yet it was not presented like a history class.
Weather was a bit of an issue our second day but it didn't dampen our spirits and again Ronnie and Jeff worked through it with ease. The meals were amazing and food plentiful.
If you've ever considered a river float do yourself a favor and go for it! Be adventurous and bring your sense of humor. You won't regret it.
