A Trip of a Lifetime – Four Appreciations

1. Professionalism and mastery of the river by our guides. The size and comfort of our boat belied the skill required to navigate treacherous rapids and unpredictable eddies and currents. Our trip leader, Mark, was the consummate professional with world class river skills. Similarly, Johnny, Kurt and John had years of river experience and knowledge. Coupled with their safety skills, humor and musical talent, it was a trip of a lifetime.
2. Comradery. Thank you Sandy and Gerry for showing us the way and sharing memorable stories. Everyone in our group came from different backgrounds and geographies but came for a common purpose, a trip of a lifetime.
3. Glory of America’s West. Seeing the Milky Way and silhouette of the Canyon walls at night (without mosquitos) is a unique experience and cherished from our trip of a lifetime.
4. Less is more. As a passenger you need surprisingly little. However, Western River does an enormous amount of work flawlessly – flight and ground logistics, preparing and supplying the boats (beautiful fresh food would magically appear every day). Thank you Western River for a trip of a lifetime.
