You can only try to describe it but you can’t actually describe it well enough
I would say this trip is something that can almost not be described and no review or tip can prepare you for this trip of a lifetime. Not only do the guides, the weather or the food make up a part of the greatness but also what you make out of the opportunities you get, defines how amazed and baffled you will go home in the end. Western River Expeditions provides you with the perfect base, the best mixes of guides and a food menu that has been unchanged though successful for years. However, you yourself have the power to make it great! Open mind, open heart, average physical fitness, a decent camera (does not need to be waterproof, sand-proof more like it) and you're good to go. In 2005, when I was 16, I did this trip along with the rest of my family. We didn't have any expectations, had read no reviews and had a blast. Of course the crew is essential and Ben and Ronnie have embedded themselves in our mind. In every way positive! To go a 2nd time this year (2010) was a privilege but by no means could we have let our parents go by themselves. All the fun just for them? No no no. You don't say no to the Colorado River or Western River Expeditions. Even though we missed Ben by a day and thought an awesome trip could not become more awesome, we were proven wrong. I guess Shad and Marty DO just have the best boats ever, with all that energy and all those games. Thank you to Wren, Mark, Marty and Shad! My life just hand you it's best treats! No matter what trip you take or how long you go, no matter which guides they'll provide you with, you will never forget the Colorado River, it's rapids and the clear skies at night and even if you forget the names of the people you spend those days with, you will never forget them. People don't say it's the trip of a lifetime for nothing! I am sure I will be back! In memoriam of Shadrach's very loyal shoes!
